Price List for "The Ocean's Shine" My friend Camille Davidson invited me to have a virtual show at her gallery in Readfield, Maine for the month of August 2020. We know each other from New England Wax, a group of encaustic artists. This is a wonderful opportunity to share my work with a new audience.
I decided to call my show "The Ocean's Shine" for several reasons.
My work tends to be bright and bold and "shiny". It feels like what we need in these dark times. More shine, more goodness.
Nature is a big source of inspiration for me - the woods, streams, mountains, ocean. I identify as a "forest bather"or "shinrin-yoku" as it's known in Japan: the practice of going into the forest in search of mental and physical healing.
It's my happy place, to find balance and healing in the outdoors. I start every morning with a hike with my young English lab Acadia. And I seek that experience every morning - the ocean's shine. I appreciate this opportunity to share my work.
